Wexford"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>The following statement was issued by Revenue on 15 July 2026.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>On 15\/07\/2026, as part of an intelligence led operation involving Revenue officers based in Kilkenny assisted by Revenue officers based in Rosslare Europort, over 7.7 million cigarettes were seized in Co. Wexford.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The smuggled cigarettes, branded \u2018L&amp;B\u2019, have an estimated value of over \u20ac7.3 million, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over \u20ac5.7 million. The contraband was discovered during a search of an unaccompanied trailer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investigations are ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These routine operations are part of Revenue&#8217;s ongoing work targeting smuggling and shadow economy activity.
